Job summary

ChristianaCare in Pennsylvania is seeking an Radiologic Technologist with Mammography experience to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures and ensure high standards of patient care. Qualifications

• Completion of a two-year accredited program in Radiologic Technology is required.
• Mammography certified when applicable (achieved within two years of hire – when applicable)
• Bone Dosimetry certification when applicable.
• State Licensure on Radiation Protection is as required.
• CPR Certification.
• An associate’s degree is preferred for this position.
• Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.

Responsibilities

• Operates radiographic equipment and related systems in accordance with department policy.
• Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures and quality control per guidelines.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (ACR, Joint Commission).
• Enters accurate patient study information into clinical care systems.
• Assists in coordinating workflow and patient care activities and ensures patient safety.
• Obtains clinical history and consent prior to examinations.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and uses three identifiers at all times.
• Mentors students and new staff in procedures, QC and radiation safety.
• Collaborates with imaging, clinicians, nursing and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assesses patient status changes and contributes to performance improvement data.

Shift:

• 7:30am - 4:00pm
• No holiday and no weekends.

Primary Function:

To perform diagnostic radiographic procedures according to departmental policy and guidelines.

Mammography experience highly desired.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of radiographic equipment, radiology supported computer systems, and CD burners.
• Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures and quality control as defined by department guidelines.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
• Enter accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
• Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
• Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtain appropriate consent.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Uses 3 patient identifiers at all times.
• Actively assists in the learning process of students and new staff in departmental procedures, quality control and radiation safety.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills, acts as liaison OP Imaging department, clinicians, nursing, and ancillary departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ability to assess patients for changes in patient status.
• Participates in collecting data for Performance Improvement surveys.
• Attends departmental meetings and in-services as required.
• Maintains required credentials for CPR, critical skills, and mandatory in-service education.
• Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
• Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
• Reports to supervisor in a timely manner call back studies and coordinates patient’s return for imaging.

Education Requirements:

• Completion of a two-year accredited program in Radiologic Technology is required.

Special Requirements:

• ARRT registered
• Delaware State License if applicable
• ARRT Mammography Registered if applicable - the successful completion of the Mammography Registration exam is a requirement for those performing mammography procedures. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.

This position pays $31.51 to $43.32 based on experience.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
