Job summary

ChristianaCare's Union Hospital Imaging Department is recruiting a Full-Time Radiologic Technologist to work at the UH Breast Center in Elkton, MD. This role performs diagnostic radiographic procedures, supports students, and ensures safety and quality control.

Eligible candidates may receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Requirements include an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registration, Maryland licensure, CPR, and MQSA accreditation experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a staff technologist.
• Experience managing accreditations for ACR and MQSA.
• Completion of a two-year accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Mammography certification within two years of hire, if applicable.
• State Licensure in Radiation Protection is required.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Associate’s degree with plan to obtain AS degree within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Content level expert of radiographic equipment and troubleshooting.
• Manage radiology computer systems and CD burners.
• Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures and quality control per dept guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with ACR, MQSA and Joint Commission regulations.
• Assist in teaching students and new staff in procedures and safety.
• Maintain credentials for CPR and mandatory in-service education; support customer satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as required.

The Union Hospital Imaging Department is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Radiologic Technologist to work at the UH Breast Center.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Content level expert of radiographic equipment and knowledge and proficiency to troubleshoot.
• Content level expert of radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
• Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures and quality control as defined by department guidelines.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
• Assists in the learning process of students and new staff in departmental procedures, quality control and radiation safety.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills, acts as liaison in the Imaging department, clinicians, nursing, and ancillary departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintains required credentials for CPR, critical skills, and mandatory in-service education.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a staff technologist.
• Requires technologist to be experienced in managing accreditations for ACR, MQSA.
• Completion of two-year accredited program in Radiologic Technology is required.
• Mammography certified when applicable (achieved within two years of hire – when applicable)
• State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
• CPR Certification
• An Associate’s degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.

Special Requirements

• ARRT registered
• Maryland State License
• ARRT Mammography Registered if applicable - the successful completion of the Mammography Registration exam is a requirement for those performing mammography procedures. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.

Hourly Pay Range: $32.77 - $52.43. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
