Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• Certificate in Radiologic Technology awarded before January 1, 2015 from an accredited program.
• ARRT registration required upon hire in Maryland; required within 90 days in Washington, DC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate digital fluoroscopic and portable radiology equipment to obtain routine radiographs per physician specifications.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and ensure proper patient identification and image labeling.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance workflows, safety and patient experience.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure adequate supplies.
• Document patient care in the EHR and distribute final images to PACS for interpretation.
• Communicate effectively with patients to obtain histories and explain procedures.
• Coordinate patient flow and collaborate with care teams and families.
