Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.

Responsibilities

• Review images and ensure diagnostic adequacy.
• Administer contrast and monitor patients as needed.

Job description

Salary range: $30.00 - $30.00 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For union positions, placement is guided by the collective bargaining agreement.

Position Overview

This is a full‑time position (40 hours per week) located at Lake Forest Hospital for the Orthopedics clinic. The role includes coverage at the Grayslake and Glenview clinics, along with the Pain Medicine clinic at Lake Forest. Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. C‑Arm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post‑procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic‑quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Applies professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow‑up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time‑sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set‑up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Consistently upholds all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, such as radiation safety, MRI safety, infection‑prevention measures, and other relevant safety protocols.
• Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery.
• Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, and growth.
• Supports additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs.
