Job summary

Wellstar in Georgia is seeking Radiology Technologists to join a collaborative care team. You will operate imaging equipment, follow ALARA principles, and contribute to patient safety and comfort.

This role emphasizes clinical history collection, accurate RIS/PACS documentation, and adherence to infection control; PRN scheduling, opportunities for education through CareerCare, and a supportive work culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) and BLS from the American Heart Association are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and maintain diagnostic quality with ALARA.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and use two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast using venipuncture with sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients, apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and reimage if needed.
• Document accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrievals as required.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with life-support equipment as needed.
• Organize daily workflow to meet timeframes and support department operations.
• Maintain stocked areas, complete clerical tasks, and elevate issues to supervision.
