Job summary

Wellstar is seeking Radiology Technologists to join a team of clinical professionals dedicated to compassionate patient care. This PRN role emphasizes collaboration within a coordinated care team, upholding safety, quality imaging, and responsive service across a busy radiology service line.

The position offers flexible scheduling, clinical support for education, and opportunities to advance within Georgia’s integrated health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification and BLS (American Heart Association) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and competently, maintaining diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders with two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care to reduce patient anxiety using AIDET.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout visits.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol with venipuncture and sterile technique.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and finalize in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and restock life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflow to meet timeframes and support department flow.
