Job summary
Northwestern Medicine is seeking an X-Ray Technologist for Diagnostic Imaging on a full-time day shift in Chicago. You will perform radiographic imaging, ensure patient safety, educate patients, and maintain accurate records while supporting a patient-first environment.
Required ARRT radiography certification, Illinois licensure, and AS degree in radiography. 12-hour shifts, competitive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth are included in a staff radiographer position.
Qualifications
- Certification in Radiography by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology)
- Active Illinois license (IEMA)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Associates Degree or Certificate in Radiography (hospital program)
Responsibilities
- Assess physician orders for radiologic exams
- Determine appropriate protocol for imaging
- Explain radiation safety to patients
- Position patients and perform imaging
- Care for patients according to nursing standards
- Complete and maintain patient medical records
- Perform electronic quality analysis of images
- Adhere to research protocols and keep data records
- Report equipment issues to supervisor
- Assist in education of staff and students
- Facilitate scheduling and patient transport
- Ensure patient data quality for QA metrics
- Interact with multiple departments to ensure continuity of care
