Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and perform radiographic procedures in line with safety protocols. You will mentor junior staff and students as part of a compassionate, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include operating imaging equipment per protocol, ensuring image quality, and supporting departmental operations while maintaining patient privacy and comfort across diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program is required.
• ARRT registration or registry-eligible with registration within 90 days of employment.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment independently per protocol (may include placement of nasogastric tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and administration of contrast).
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Performs timely quality control procedures and communicates remediation as warranted.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and care to the patient population and maintains patient privacy.
