Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to provide high-quality radiology services in a busy department. You will operate x-ray equipment, review images with radiologists when needed, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.

You will maintain equipment, comply with QC programs, and document procedures in PACS/RADIANT while upholding infection control standards and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Appropriate clinical training in a Radiologic Technologist program and healthcare experience as a radiology technologist.
• Required: Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (CPR, BLS) - American Heart Association
• Required: Radiology Technician (ARRT) - Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board Of Examiners (LSRTBE)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates skills in the use of all x‑ray equipment and performance of all x‑ray protocols and procedures.
• Reviews scans with the Radiologists to identify important anatomic detail and abnormalities when needed.
• Confirms patient identity, body part, and side for every procedure.
• Explains procedures to patients and families and answers questions to ease anxiety and assure cooperation.
• Maintains equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
• Participates in QC/PI programs and maintains sterile technique and infection control.
• Records requisition information accurately and inputs data in PACS/RADIANT.
