Job summary

Trinity Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for a full-time evening shift. The role includes performing diagnostic imaging on scheduled shifts, rotating through surgery cases to build level III proficiency, and providing education to patients and families.

Candidates must complete an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program, be registry eligible or registered, hold an Iowa Permit to Practice, and maintain BLS certification with training in mandatory reporter

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program.
• Registry eligible or Registered Radiologic Technologist (active status).
• Current Iowa Permit to Practice.
• Participation in ISRT or SCD.
• BLS certification or obtained within three months of hire.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform Diagnostic Imaging procedures on scheduled shifts using imaging equipment.
• Rotate through surgery cases to attain level III proficiency.
• Educate patients, families or caregivers about health problems and solutions.
• Maintain department in a clean, stock, and orderly condition while following protocols.
• Operate equipment safely and report malfunctions to manager/Bio-med.

Job description

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Evening Shift Description: This position is eligible for relocation depending on location

Shift hours: Evenings/1 weekend a month/2 holidays a year

What you will do:

• Performs Diagnostic Imaging procedures on scheduled shifts including operating imaging equipment.
• Rotates regularly through surgery cases in order to acquire the skills and proficiency necessary to attain level III status.
• Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
• Demonstrates proficiency in performing all exams according to protocol. Maintains the physical environment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner.
• Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner, reporting any malfunctions to manager/Bio-med

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program.
• Registry eligible or Registered Radiologic Technologist; and maintain active registry status.
• Maintains current Iowa Permit to Practice
• Participates in professional society (i.e., ISRT or SCD)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire
