Job summary

IHA is hiring a Radiologic Technologist for day shifts in Des Moines, IA. This full-time role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures on scheduled shifts with regular rotations through surgeries to gain level III proficiency.

The position requires completing an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program, registry status or eligibility, Iowa Permit to Practice, BLS certification within three months, and active involvement in professional societies. Relocation may be considered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program.
• Registry eligible or registered Radiologic Technologist; maintain active registry status.
• Maintains current Iowa Permit to Practice.
• Participates in professional society (ISRT or SCD).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform Diagnostic Imaging procedures on scheduled shifts including operating imaging equipment.
• Rotate through surgery cases to attain level III status.
• Educate and counsel patients, families, or caregivers on health-related concerns.
• Maintain department environment: clean, well-stocked, and orderly.
• Operate equipment safely and report malfunctions to manager/biomed.

What You Will Do

• Performs Diagnostic Imaging procedures on scheduled shifts including operating imaging equipment.
• Rotates regularly through surgery cases in order to acquire the skills and proficiency necessary to attain level III status.
• Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
• Demonstrates proficiency in performing all exams according to protocol. Maintains the physical environment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner.
• Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner, reporting any malfunctions to manager/Bio-med
