Job summary

IHA in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for night shift to perform Diagnostic Imaging procedures on scheduled shifts and rotate through surgery cases to gain Level III proficiency.

You will educate patients and families, maintain equipment and a clean, well-stocked department, and ensure safety by following protocols. Active registry and Iowa Permit to Practice required; BLS certification or within three months of hire; relocation may be eligible depending on location.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program.
• Registry eligible or Registered Radiologic Technologist; maintain active registry status.
• Maintains current Iowa Permit to Practice.
• Participates in professional society (ISRT or SCD).
• BLS certified or obtained within three months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs Diagnostic Imaging procedures on scheduled shifts including operating imaging equipment.
• Rotates through surgery cases to attain level III status.
• Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of health problems.
• Maintains the physical environment of the department, keeping it clean, stocked, and orderly.
• Operates equipment safely and reports malfunctions to manager/biomed.

What You Will Do

• Performs Diagnostic Imaging procedures on scheduled shifts including operating imaging equipment.
• Rotates regularly through surgery cases in order to acquire the skills and proficiency necessary to attain level III status.
• Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
• Demonstrates proficiency in performing all exams according to protocol. Maintains the physical environment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner.
• Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner, reporting any malfunctions to manager/Bio-med
