Job summary

IHA is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures on scheduled shifts and operate imaging equipment. The role includes rotating through surgery cases to gain level III proficiency and providing education to patients and families.

Candidates must complete an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program, be registry eligible or registered, and maintain Iowa Permit to Practice.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program.
• Registry eligible or Registered Radiologic Technologist; maintain active registry status.
• Maintains current Iowa Permit to Practice.
• Participates in professional society (ISRT or SCD).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs Diagnostic Imaging procedures on scheduled shifts including operating imaging equipment.
• Rotates through surgery cases to attain level III status.
• Provides patient/family education and counseling on physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
• Maintains department environment in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner.
• Operates equipment safely and reports malfunctions to manager or Biomed.

What You Will Do

• Performs Diagnostic Imaging procedures on scheduled shifts including operating imaging equipment.
• Rotates regularly through surgery cases in order to acquire the skills and proficiency necessary to attain level III status.
• Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
• Demonstrates proficiency in performing all exams according to protocol. Maintains the physical environment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner.
• Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner, reporting any malfunctions to manager/Bio-med
