Position Summary:

UI Health seeks Radiologic Technologists to join our Diagnostic Service department. Multiple openings are available for part-time and full-time roles, with schedules including days, evenings, nights, and rotating weekends. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining radiographic equipment under physician supervision to produce diagnostic images, assisting with patient preparation, monitoring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining records. Employees work under direct supervision of senior personnel.

Responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining relevant medical history within HIPAA guidelines.
  • Interpreting physician’s orders and screening patients before procedures.
  • Positioning and transferring patients, using immobilization devices as needed.
  • Preparing the procedure room and equipment, performing safety checks.
  • Explaining procedures to patients and monitoring them during exams.
  • Performing imaging procedures, maintaining sterile fields, and adjusting technical factors for optimal images.
  • Administering contrast media or medications under supervision.
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment post-procedure.
  • Processing and reviewing diagnostic images to meet standards.
  • Managing patient records and billing information accurately.
  • Following all regulatory guidelines and operating mobile radiographic units.
  • Maintaining department cleanliness and reporting equipment issues.
  • Training radiology students and participating in emergency responses.
  • Utilizing computer systems for data entry and retrieval.
  • Performing diagnostic exams with CR and DR imaging, completing required training, and providing on-call coverage as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current ARRT registration and certification in Radiography.
  • State of Illinois Radiologic Technologist accreditation (IEMA).
  • American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
