Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures under the direction of a Radiologist and Supervisor. The role covers newborn to elderly patients and may include Bone Density exams, with emphasis on independent judgment and safety.

Essential duties include operating radiographic equipment, maintaining quality images, adhering to safety guidelines, maintaining records, and collaborating with the imaging team to ensure efficient patient care

Qualifications

• ARRT Registry or Registry eligible with 1 year to provide proof of registered status.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate or graduation eligible of accredited ARRT Program.

Responsibilities

• Operates radiographic equipment according to equipment specifications and produces quality radiographs.
• Adheres to infection control and safety practices.
• Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Maintains processors, diagnosis processing problems and takes appropriate action.
• Follows radiation safety practices and state/federal guidelines.
• Produce quality images consistently within established protocols.
• Maintains patient records according to department procedure.
• Assess patients and coordinate with Imaging nurse as appropriate.
• Provide patient education pertinent to exam and document in patient record.
• Utilize RIS according to department standards (order, arrive, start, record complications, etc.).
• Meet department productivity standards.
• Participate in training of new staff and perform additional duties as assigned.
