The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures on ambulatory and/or clinic patients. Evaluates image quality and utilizes proper radiation safety practices. Demonstrates working knowledge of equipment and safety practices. Demonstrates knowledge and skills needed to perform radiology procedures per protocol, and adjusts techniques according to patient needs. Consults with providers as needed. Provides practical instruction for patients, families, and other health care professionals. Assists with other clinic or site functions and duties as applicable to the individual’s abilities to perform. Completes documentation on time and accurately in accordance with department policy/procedure including proper image management and accurate documentation in electronic medical record. Practices safety at all times, which includes adhering to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles for proper radiation safety for self and patients, using mobilization and immobilization devices, following safe patient handling practices, following infection prevention practices (proper personal protective equipment), and following hand hygiene to comply with all government agencies or other regulatory bodies. Qualifications include High School diploma or GED preferred, must be 18 years of age, graduate of an accredited radiography program, ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), and Wisconsin license. Physical demands include ability to move freely and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Work environment includes exposure to blood borne pathogens, sharp objects, mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, electrical shock risk, high noise levels, communicable diseases, hazardous materials, pharmacological agents, and occasional contact with aggressive or combative patients. Schedule is Monday to Friday 8-5 pm with weekend/holiday rotation at Urgent Care location. Scheduled weekly hours are 20 with a 0.5 FTE.
