Job summary

Allina Health in Hastings, MN is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for outpatient imaging procedures in a clinic setting. You will perform diagnostic imaging under the direction of a radiologist or provider, welcome and guide patients, and ensure image quality and proper documentation.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program with ARRT certification upon hire (or at time of hire) and may involve 8-hour shifts with day/evening coverage and occasional weekends

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT registration required upon hire or must be registered at time of hire.
• 0-2 years of radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic imaging procedures under supervision.
• Communicates with patients to explain procedures and address questions.
• Ensures accurate patient identification and procedure documentation.
• Maintains clean and stocked procedure areas and radiology equipment.
• Operates imaging and EMR systems (Excellian) and ensures images transfer correctly.
• Assists with patient flow and safety during procedures.

Job Description:

Performs technical and diagnostic imaging functions under the direction of a provider or radiologist. Provides timely and quality services to patients. Interacts with patients to welcome, explain and respond to questions and concerns during and following the procedure. Individuals in this role will work in an outpatient clinic setting.

Principle Responsibilities

• Completes procedures in compliance with physician orders, regulatory requirements and department guidelines.
• Rooms patients and manage patient flow.
• Identifies patient with two identifiers.
• Documents all needed aspects of the procedure.
• Observes and communicates with patient, responding to needs.
• Maintains safe patient environment in procedure area.
• May performs dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans.
• Performs procedure with high degree of accuracy.
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of all diagnostic equipment.
• Gathers all relevant information to assist in interpretation of images.
• Verifies all imaging has appropriately transferred to imaging storage and retrieval system.
• Provides accurate clerical function.
• Uses Excellian (electronic medical record).
• Understands the Enterprise Medical Imaging/Picture Archiving and Communication System.
• Ensures all documentation is complete post procedure.
• Stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies.
• Communicates with supervisor and team.
• Reports problems, issues or ideas.
• Provides assistance, ideas and information to support the work or others.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Training Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program

Preferred Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years in Radiology

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required must be registered upon hire
• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below
  Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
  Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Physical Demands

• Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $31.07 to $42.59 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
