Job Summary

A Radiology Technician (Radiologic Technologist) performs diagnostic imaging, such as X‑rays, using ionizing radiation while ensuring patient safety under ALARA standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform X‑rays, fluoroscopy, and other diagnostic images while applying ionizing radiation safety protocols (ALARA).
• Prepare, transfer, and position patients, ensuring modesty and comfort.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain imaging equipment, including Computed Radiology (CR) units and ensuring proper shielding.
• Select appropriate exposure factors to produce high‑quality diagnostic images.
• Accurately update patient records and clinical history in systems such as MEDITECH.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.
• Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• State‑specific license (e.g., Florida Department of Health CRT licensure).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
• Must be able to assist in lifting and transferring patients.
• May require working evenings, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
