Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to operate imaging equipment and capture high-quality X-ray images to aid diagnosis.

The role spans 16 community hospitals including 3 level 1 trauma centers and multiple outpatient clinics across South Carolina.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • ARRT registration required or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • SC Radiation Quality Standards Association licensure required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

  • Perform radiographic procedures requiring a strong understanding of anatomical positioning and human physiology.
  • Apply ionizing radiation for diagnostic imaging in adult and/or pediatric populations.
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical competency in imaging procedures.
  • Exercise independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity with minimal supervision.

Job Description Summary

As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist at MUSC, you have access to state-of-the-art imaging equipment to capture detailed X-ray images, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment planning for a wide range of medical conditions across 16 community hospitals including 3 level 1 trauma centers and many unique outpatient clinics across South Carolina. Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience: 0 to 2 years of modality specific work experience.

Credentials
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), If not registered must obtain the registry within 6 months of hire.
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
