Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform medical X-ray exams and produce diagnostic images for physicians. You will operate portable X-ray devices, ensure equipment is functional, and maintain a clean work area while assisting with supplies and patient handling.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program, ARRt registration within 6 months, BLS certification, and 0–2 years of modality experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • ARRT registration within 6 months of hire is required; SC license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic examinations on patients.

  • Maintain orderly, clean work area and assist with stocking.

Job Description

Perform medical exams using X-rays on patients to create images of specific parts of the body. The images are then interpreted by a doctor for diagnosis and monitoring of disease.

Duties Include
  • Ability to utilize portable x-ray equipment
  • Performs radiographic examinations.
  • Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis.
  • Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventive maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work area, requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times.
  • Performs other miscellaneous and related duties as required including lifting and transporting patients.

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience: Zero to two years of modality specific work experience.

Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
