The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Dual Registered Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality Radiology, CT, MRI or Mammography examinations across patient ages from neonates to geriatrics under the Imaging Director.
Under general supervision, you will operate multiple modalities, follow safety guidelines, and support imaging needs throughout the hospital. ARRT CT registry, accredited radiologic program, SC license and BLS are required.
Multi-modality technologist provides quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities. Technologists must be able to effectively explain the procedures to the patient and be sure they are competent in the procedure being performed. Technologists must produce images for the interpretation, and or request of, a licensed practitioner.

The Dual Registered Technologist reports to the Imaging Director. Under general supervision, the Radiology and CT/MRI/Mammography Dual Registered Technologist performs high quality Radiology/CT/MRI or Mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from neonate through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician.
Operates imaging equipment: Radiology and CT, MRI or Mammography, following radiation safety guidelines based on hospital policy and regulatory requirements. Provides radiographic support for all areas of the Hospital as needed. Position patients accurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilization devices when required. Avoids excessive repeated examinations by following guidelines
Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology and one year of radiologic experience. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Computed Tomography, and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association. Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
