Job summary

CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy seeks a Radiologic Technologist to produce diagnostic images and support radiologists in patient care. You will perform imaging exams including X-rays, ultrasound, CT, and MRI, while engaging patients to ensure a positive experience and accurate results.

Success relies on expertise in workflow, positioning, and following radiation protection standards to deliver high-quality images for timely diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.
• Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging exams (X-rays, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI) and contributes to accurate diagnoses.
• Explains procedures, duration, and expectations to patients; obtains consent when needed.
• Educates patients and maintains confidentiality; ensures a positive patient experience.
• Selects equipment, sets factors and protocols; follows radiation safety standards including Image Gently/ Image Wisely.
• Obtains patient history and records data to aid interpretation and future encounters.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Every day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To be successful, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Assesses patients and their abilities to participate in ordered procedures. Provides a clear explanation of the procedure including; duration, process, and what to expect following completion.


• Provides patient education as appropriate.


• Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.


• Selects proper equipment, setting correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gathers proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure. Recognizes all radiation safety standards including “Image Gently” and “Image Wisely”. Understands and follows all rules around radiation protection including wearing of lead protection when there is a possibility of exposure.


• Obtains clear and complete history from the patient and/or patient record and records that data into patient record to assist in image interpretation and future patient encounters.

Pay Range

$25.42 - $37.82 /hour
