Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates radiologic equipment to create clinical diagnostic radiographs and perform routine diagnostic procedures following established standards and practices.
- Provides patient services using various imaging modalities.
- Delivers patient care to all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatrics.
- Positions patients, selects appropriate protocols, and utilizes all necessary equipment.
- Maintains competencies for all related tasks.
- Follows all established imaging protocols accurately.
- When performing exams in ICU or surgery, the student must be accompanied by a staff technologist.
- Provides age-specific quality care in accordance with prescribed standards.
- Adheres to Radiation Safety Policies and principles of dose reduction programs.
- Provides patient education and communication per prescribed standards.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Operates various types of x-ray equipment, including radiographic/fluoroscopy rooms and portable units.
- Produces quality radiographic exams.
- Delivers SAFE care following the Alwaysafe program.
- Uses AIDET with every patient encounter and is proficient with service recovery.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Currently enrolled as a 2nd-year student in an accredited radiological technology program.
Minimum Experience: None
Licensure/Certification: BLS certified; no additional licensure required by law.
Additional Qualifications
BLS certification required.
