Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta, part of the Dignity Health network, is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform X-rays, CT scans, fluoroscopy, MRI and ultrasound as part of a diagnostic imaging team. You will interact with patients to promote a positive experience while ensuring accurate imaging and documentation.

The role requires strong knowledge of anatomy, proper patient positioning, and adherence to radiation safety standards to support timely and reliable diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Graduate AMA approved school of radiologic technology; two years X-Ray and CT experience.
• Completion of JCERT approved radiologic technology program (CAAHEP preferred).
• Medical Radiographer license for CA required at hire.
• Basic Life Support CPR by American Heart Association required at hire.
• ARRT Registered Technologist Radiography certification required at hire.
• Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech license for CA required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic procedures with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and positioning to produce quality images.
• Ensure correct exam on correct patient and understand clinical reason for exam.
• Maintain professional demeanor and triage multiple requests, seeking help when needed.
• Coordinate workflow with hospital staff in a cooperative manner.
• Follow radiation safety principles and applicable regulations.
• Gathers clinical information for each exam to ensure safe care.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Performs all radiographic procedures with a sound understanding of anatomy, physiology, positioning and technical factors to produce quality diagnostic images
• Assures that the proper examination is performed on the correct patient, and understands the clinical reason the exam is being performed
• Demonstrates professional demeanor and ability to triage multiple requests and asks for assistance when appropriate
• Coordinates work flow with medical center co-workers in a cooperative and collaborative manner
• Demonstrates awareness of radiation safety principles, Joint Commission requirements, and all applicable Federal, State and local regulations
• Gathers appropriate clinical information for each examination, assuring that safe care is delivered
