Job summary

Dignity Health - Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is hiring a Radiologic Technologist to produce diagnostic images for radiologists. You will perform X-rays, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy procedures, while ensuring patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will verify exam indications, position patients, and coordinate workflows with the care team, adhering to Joint Commission standards and radiation safety guidelines to deliver high-quality exams for accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Graduate AMA approved school of radiologic technology
• Successful completion of JCERT approved radiologic technology program
• Medical Radiographer - CA license
• Basic Life Support - CPR (American Heart Association)
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
• Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech - CA

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic procedures with knowledge of anatomy and positioning to produce quality images
• Ensures examination is appropriate for the patient and understands clinical reason for exam
• Maintains professional demeanor and triages requests appropriately
• Coordinates workflow with medical center staff collaboratively
• Demonstrates awareness of radiation safety principles and applicable regulations
• Gathers clinical information to ensure safe care

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Performs all radiographic procedures with a sound understanding of anatomy, physiology, positioning and technical factors to produce quality diagnostic images
• Assures that the proper examination is performed on the correct patient, and understands the clinical reason the exam is being performed
• Demonstrates professional demeanor and ability to triage multiple requests and asks for assistance when appropriate
• Coordinates work flow with medical center co-workers in a cooperative and collaborative manner
• Demonstrates awareness of radiation safety principles, Joint Commission requirements, and all applicable Federal, State and local regulations
• Gathers appropriate clinical information for each examination, assuring that safe care is delivered
