Job summary

Loyola Medicine is seeking a Radiology Imaging X-Ray Modality Technical Specialist to lead development and implementation of clinical imaging protocols region‑wide. You will serve as the technical SME, educator, and trainer for staff, while coordinating safety, quality, and research initiatives across imaging teams.

The role requires an ARRT license, 3–5 years of radiology experience, and the ability to travel to offsite locations, with salary in the $35–59 per hour range and a competitive

• 3-5 years of previous job‑related experience.
• May require on‑call, weekend and holiday coverage as department needs warrant.

• Preferred: industry work experience as X‑Ray Application Specialist with a major medical equipment vendor

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement clinical imaging protocols across the region.
• Act as chief educator and trainer for all staff within Radiology.
• Oversee safety protocols and quality for the modality.
• Direct liaison between equipment vendor, physicians, and staff.
• Perform technical procedures with independent judgement to deliver high-quality diagnostic information

About the Job

In this role the Radiology Imaging X-Ray Modality Technical Specialist, in collaboration with the Radiology Leadership, including Physician Leader(s), functions as the technical "subject matter expert". This position is charged with the development & implementation of all clinical imaging protocols for the region. The Radiology Imaging X-Ray Modality Technical Specialist acts as the chief educator/super trainer for all staff, Clinical Instructor, Scanner Accreditations, oversees all Safety protocols and all research projects, directs quality for the modality, and serves as a liaison between the equipment vendor, physicians, & staff. In addition, this person performs technical procedures, applying modality specific techniques that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative to provide the physician with the highest quality of diagnostic information.

• Specific Degree(s): Radiologic Technology; Radiology Technologist- AMA approved program

Licensure/Certifications Required

• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association

Annual Salary Range: $35.00 - 59.00 Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
