Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA, is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist for evening shifts. The role performs routine and specialized radiographic procedures, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and high-quality imaging.

He/she may lead and train staff, coordinate scheduling, and collaborate on projects with other departments to improve care and efficiency. The position requires an accredited radiologic technology program and ARRT certification, plus CPR/BLS and 2 years of relevant

Qualifications

• 2 years of work experience required.
• ARRT licensure required upon hire in one of the listed specialties.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Accredited radiologic technology program required.
• Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic examinations, obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns.
• Performs diagnostic procedures in specialty areas at an intermediate level: orthopedic, neuro and vascular OR procedures; complex portables, or trauma procedures.
• Demonstrates leadership by guiding and supervising other personnel and monitoring work.
• Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
• Positions and transfers patients safely and explains procedures.
• Ensures radiation safety and immobilizes patients as needed.
• Processes images using digital technology; resolves PACS/EHR issues and cancels unnecessary orders as appropriate.
• Evaluates image quality and maintains acceptable repeat rates.
• Participates in projects to improve care and efficiency; contributes to equipment QA and standards development.

Performs routine and specialized diagnostic and technical radiographic procedures at an intermediate skill level.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic examinations, obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns.
• Performs diagnostic procedures in one of the following specialty areas at an intermediate level: complex orthopedic, neuro and vascular operating room procedures (includes overhead, fluoroscopic and portable C-arm procedures); complex portables, or trauma procedures.
• Demonstrates leadership skills; oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature
• Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
• Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
• Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
• Properly processes images using digital technology; resolves problems in the PACS and EHR systems, has the ability to cancel unnecessary orders upon request of providers(site specific)
• Evaluates recorded images for technical quality, consistently maintains a repeat rate under the National Standard of 65
• Participates in and collaborates with other departments on projects to improve care and efficiency as needed; participates in at least 1 project including but not limited to: equipment QA (monthly, quarterly testing), creating standards of work, engagement committee.
