Job summary

Spaulding Hospital Cape Cod is seeking a Radiology Technician to provide advanced clinical patient care while producing diagnostic radiologic images. The role emphasizes efficient image acquisition and maintaining the highest standards of patient care to deliver an exceptional patient experience.

The position requires Massachusetts licensure, ARRT-R preferred, and 2–3 years of radiology experience with multiple patient populations. Strong communication and teaching abilities are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Imaging is required.
• Massachusetts radiologic technologist license is required.
• ARRT-R certification preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality images for radiologists.
• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures including transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning.
• Explains procedures to patients considering physical and emotional needs.
• Records digital images as directed for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintains pertinent records.
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
• May assist Radiology Technologist Students and new staff in performing radiologic exams, sterile technique, and stocking of supplies.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing an advanced clinical level of quality patient care while producing radiologic images used for patient diagnosis and treatment. The responsibilities also include completing x-rays effectively and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care possible in order to provide the most remarkable patient experience.

Does this position require Patient Care? Yes

• Determines appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patients condition to obtain quality images for radiologists; this level may provide an advanced clinical level of patient care
• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures which may include transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and position patients
• Explains procedures to patients taking into consideration physical and emotional needs
• Records digital images as directed for radiologist interpretation
• Maintains pertinent records
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards
• May provide assistance to Radiology Technologist Students and new staff in performing Radiologic exams, sterile technique, and proper stocking of supplies in radiographic rooms

Education

Associate's Degree Diagnostic Imaging required

• Radiologic Technologist [Massachusetts License] - required
• Registered Technologist [ARRT-R] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
