Job summary

Texas Health Plano is seeking a Radiographer (RAD Tech) for the part-time days schedule. The role supports the Radiology Department in a high-volume, trauma-capable facility in Plano, TX.

Responsibilities include explaining procedures, positioning patients, assisting radiologists with complex exams, and ensuring image quality and proper transfer to PACS and HIS/RIS. Prior radiologic tech experience and ARRT/GMRT/BCLS certifications are required or preferred as noted.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology upon hire or
• Associate's Degree preferred
• 1 year radiologic technologist experience preferred
• GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist certification either by TDH or TMB upon hire
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification upon hire
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patient or guardian prior to exam
• Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest
• Perform complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
• Adjust technique parameters appropriately for age related factors
• Assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
• Maintain attention to details
• Process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed
• Utilize proper downtime procedures for PACS and HIS/RIS
• Correctly send and transfer images to PACS
• Print laser images from modality or PACS
• Coordinate with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities

Here’s What You Need
