Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform a variety of radiologic procedures under radiologist supervision in a fast-paced clinical setting in Attleboro, MA.

The role requires 1-2 years of experience, ARRT certification, an associate degree in Radiologic Technology, strong patient communication, and the ability to move and position patients and equipment safely. On-call and holiday coverage is included. This environment values accuracy and patient care in imaging.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of radiologic procedures using standard, portable and/or specialized x-ray equipment under Radiologist supervision.
• Perform C-arm procedures in the operating room and pain clinic, and assist with fluoroscopy as needed.
• Cover on-call and holiday shifts; per-diem staff may cover holidays.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and patient comfort during imaging procedures.

Job description

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 - Under Radiologist supervision and following established protocols and procedures, the technologist will be expected to perform a variety of radiologic procedures using standard, portable and/or specialized x-ray equipment. Technologists will be required to perform C-arm procedures in both the operating room and in pain clinic as well as special procedure injections and fluoroscopy procedures with the assistance of a Radiologist. Technologists are required to cover on-call and holiday shifts. Per-diem technologists may be required to cover holiday shifts.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience Competent in routine Radiologic procedures and operating room skills Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills Ability to slide patients on and off of X-ray stretchers to X-ray table, and push and pull objects greater than 20lbs throughout the day Ability to push and pull stretchers holding patients of various weight and body habitus

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience: Experience in acute care hospital setting Synapse/PACS experience Previous experience with Cerner a plus

Educational Requirements: Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology

License/Certification: ARRT certified Licensure in Radiology from the state of Massachusetts

Physical Demands: Radiographers must possess the physical stamina and strength to stand/walk for extended periods of time, push heavy mobile imaging equipment, and lift or reposition patients weighing over 50-100 lbs using proper body mechanics. The role requires frequent bending, reaching, and manual dexterity for manipulating equipment, as well as high visual/auditory acuity. Constant standing and walking throughout the shift are required. Must have ability to move and reposition heavy portable X-ray machines, C-arms, and patient stretchers. Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and reaching (sometimes overhead) are required. Requires fine motor skills for handling delicate imaging components. Auditory ability to communicate with patients and hear equipment signals; Regular exposure to radiation, communicable diseases, and bodily fluids. Ability to exert 30-70 lbs of force for maneuvering patients or equipment. Ability to work in confined spaces and use PPE (e.g., lead aprons) for extended periods.
