Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Radiographer II to perform diagnostic radiography and support patient care under department supervision. The role includes precepting students and serving as a resource for front-line staff, with emphasis on safety and quality imaging.

Weekend shift 9:00 am–9:30 pm, 24 hours weekly, with a sign-on bonus up to $9,000 and up to $5,000 relocation for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• ARRT certificate required.
• Iowa Department of Public Health Permit to Practice Diagnostic Radiography required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Education sufficient to obtain required licensure/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clinically relevant information to patients, families and coworkers.
• Ensure appropriate information is shared at hand-offs and other times as needed.
• Perform diagnostic fixed and portable radiographic exams, including fluoroscopy, surgery or pain clinic as needed.
• Explain and prepare patients for radiographic procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of School of Radiologic Technology policies and student supervision requirements.
• Supervise students per Mercy/St. Luke's School of Radiologic Technology policies.
