State of West Virginia seeks a Classified-Exempt Administration/District 2 professional to operate the district communications base station and multi-line phone system, while serving as the front desk receptionist. Responsibilities include directing calls, greeting visitors, logging communications, handling mail and invoices, and preparing equipment releases.
The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with typing experience, plus strong written and oral communication skills.
Under general supervision of a designated administrative officer, this employee will operate the District communications telephone and radio base station system. Employee will also serve as the District Office Receptionist with primary responsibility for answering a multi-line phone system and responding to public questions, directing calls, taking messages and providing Agency information to office visitors. Will greet visitors per building security policy and ensure that the public is provided access to the correct office or personnel. Incumbent will log all communications received and transmitted according to FCC rules and regulations and agency policy; as well as record District stream conditions, other information as may be required or needed, answer inquiries from the public and provide information; sort and distribute incoming mail; process and code invoices; prepare regulations and release orders for equipment; equipment usage, repairs and supplies; type correspondence including, but not limited to letters, memorandums, reports, logs and various forms; file documents alphabetically, numerically or by date. Be able to operate basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners and fax machines. Ideal candidate should possess effective written and oral communication skills and have a clear, pleasant speaking voice. Must have the ability to type. Performs related work as required. Regular attendance is required.
Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent including or supplemented by a course in typing.
