Job summary

Tulare County in Visalia, CA, is seeking extra help technicians for communications equipment installation and maintenance. The Level I position covers field and workshop tasks, climbing towers, testing systems, and keeping sites operational.

You must have a high school diploma with vocational training in radio/electronic equipment; three years of relevant experience; a valid California driver license; willingness to obtain climber certification and mobile elevated work platform certification;

Qualifications

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by vocational or technical courses in the operation and maintenance of voice and data radio, and electronic communication equipment.
• Three years of experience in the installation and maintenance of VHF and UHF radio frequency communication equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove communication equipment, components, and antenna installations at various locations including towers.
• Bench and field test new and existing communications and electronic test equipment for accuracy, performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Investigate complaints, repair and adjust equipment in field and workshop.
• Diagnose and locate malfunctions and component failures in communication systems and equipment.
• Maintain and operate radio repeater sites, site upkeep, and general cleaning.
