Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by vocational or technical courses in the operation and maintenance of voice and data radio, and electronic communication equipment.
• Experience: Level I – Three years of experience in the installation and maintenance of VHF and UHF radio frequency communication equipment.
• Knowledge: Landmobile communications equipment, electrical safety standards, FCC regulations, soldering techniques, electronic theory.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove communication equipment and antenna installations, including towers.
• Bench and field test new and existing communications and electronic test equipment for accuracy and regulations.
• Investigate complaints, repair and adjust equipment in field and workshop.
• Diagnose malfunctions and locate failures in communication systems and generators.
• Maintain repeater sites and perform related maintenance tasks.
