Job summary

Salem Media Group seeks a Board Operator to maintain on-air quality for live shows and podcasts. You will learn to isolate audio for hosts, manage logs, and operate control boards across multiple stations in the market.

The role requires familiarity with broadcast systems, a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and the ability to load and schedule content using WideOrbit. Strong communication and technical skills are essential.

Qualifications

Foundational understanding of audio production and broadcast systems.
Familiarity with Wide Orbit automation system and FileZilla FTP preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Adobe Audition experience a plus.
Clear vocal delivery and diction.
Detail-oriented with ability to work fast-paced shifts.

Responsibilities

Run the control board for live and prerecorded programming with proper audio levels.
Load, schedule, and manage on-air content within WideOrbit; retrieve files as needed.
Review audio for quality and adherence to standards before airing.
Monitor programs for issues and address errors such as missed cues or silence.
Screen live listener calls and assist production teams as needed.
Record daily voice tracks for stations in the market as directed.
