Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join our Oncology team. You will deliver prescribed ionizing radiation, assist with CT simulations, and support tumor localization under the guidance of the Radiation Oncologist and Dosimetrist.

The role requires a solid understanding of treatment administration, radiation safety, and strong communication with patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification or board eligibility required.
• Iowa Department of Public Health licensure required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in radiation oncology preferred.
• Strong communication with patients and families essential.
• Solid understanding of radiation safety considerations.

Responsibilities

• Delivers Radiation therapy treatment as prescribed by Radiation Oncologist.
• Assists with CT simulations and tumor localization.
• Constructs cerrobend electron blocks.
• Performs verification simulation on treatment machine.
• Completes and maintains treatment schedule and weekly chart reviews.
• Assists with HDR procedures if needed.
• Follows Mercy safety guidelines and reports unsafe conditions.
