Assists with treatment simulations and tumor localization with the guidance of the Radiation Oncologist and Dosimetrist.**Job Description****Job Duties*** Delivers Radiation therapy treatment* Assist with CT simulations* Constructs cerrobend electron blocks* Performs verification simulation on treatment machine* Completes and maintains treatment schedule* Performs weekly chart reviews* Assist with HDR procedures if needed* Performs initial chart review* Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** Must have a solid understanding of the technical aspects of radiation therapy treatment administration.* Must be able to communicate well with patients and their families and other members of the health care team.* Must have a good working knowledge of radiation safety issues.* Must be proficient on the treatment machines within 6 months of hire.**Professional Experience*** Minimum of 1 year experience in radiation oncology preferred.**Education*** Certified as a Radiation Therapist by ARRT or board eligible for certification**Licensure, Certification, Registration*** Iowa Department of Public Health licensure required* Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.
