Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is hiring a Radiation Therapist to assist the Radiation Oncologist and deliver prescribed therapies. You will document dosages, support treatment planning, and ensure patient safety across adult to geriatric populations.

Under supervision of medical physicists and oncologists, you will operate imaging and treatment equipment, maintain logs, and contribute to quality patient care at MercyOne Clinton Medical Center.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification (T) required.
• Iowa Permit to Practice required.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Know basic patient care skills and operation of radiation therapy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Radiation Oncologist in preparing patients for therapy.
• Deliver prescribed radiation treatments and document doses.
• Record daily dosages in logs and support dose verification.
• Work with adult to geriatric patients within clinical protocols.

As a Radiation Therapist at MercyOne, you will assist the Radiation Oncologist in preparing the patient for radiation therapy treatments. Under the supervision/direction of the radiation physicist and oncologist, give radiation therapy treatments. Document in daily logs the correct dosages utilized. Ages of patients served range in age from adult to geriatric.

• Per Diem (PRN)

General Requirements:

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (T)
• Iowa Department of Public Health Permit to Practice
• BLS certified within 3 months of hire
• Know basic patient care skills, operation of oxygen equipment, radiation therapy treatment equipment, record and verify system, Linear Accelerator Unit, simulation and block preparation skills
