The University of Kansas Health System in Overland Park is seeking a Radiation Therapy Assistant (PRN) to support Radiation Therapists with patient care and transport. You will help collect information from ARIA and O2, ensuring timely treatment in a patient-centered environment.

Key duties include patient observation, coordinating with nursing, EMR data entry, room turnover, and education for patients and families about radiation procedures. Part-time schedule, PRN as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate
• 3–6 months experience caring for acute, ED, or long-term care patients
• Experience as MA, EMT, or LPN
• BLS certification

Responsabilités

• Provides constant patient observation while in immediate care area and reports changes to Radiation Therapist or physician.
• Coordinates information between nursing unit and Radiation Therapy staff; confirms and screens patient appointments.
• Accesses patient information in the EMR prior to treatment and presents to staff for review.
• Enters information into O2/ARIA to assist Radiation Therapists.
• Maintains a patient-centered focus and supports hospital and department goals.
• Prepares treatment rooms before and after exams to ensure efficient room turnover.
• Transports patients to and from the Radiation Oncology department.
• Attends to patient comfort during transport and reports condition changes.
