Responsibilities

Radiation Therapist responsibilities include: operating radiation therapy equipment and computer software (including record/verify systems for charge capture), and proficiently using CT simulators. Demonstrates proper positioning, radiation safety, infection control, and quality assurance techniques. Provides clear explanations of treatment and techniques through effective communication. Interprets and follows prescriptions and treatment plans, verifying the accuracy of calculations. Assists patients, families, peers, and physicians. Some weekend call and transportation of inpatients may be required. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, peers, and physicians, along with a thorough understanding of treatment quality.

Qualifications

Required:

• Diploma in Radiation Therapy
• Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
• State Radiology Technologist License - must obtain RAD within 12 months if currently holding RADT.
