Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program with Certification in Radiation Therapy.
• ARRT certification required or preferred for the role.
• BS degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients.
• Verify prescribed treatment dose before treatment, verify fields to be treated and angles to be used.
• Assure placement of protective devices to shield healthy tissue.
• Place and immobilize patient to ensure accurate treatment and communicate with patient during treatment.
• Observe patient for unusual reaction and report any abnormal conditions.
• Chart treatment details in the patient’s medical record.
• Provide verification films on each patient treated.
• Check treatment records daily and weekly for mathematical or documentation errors.
• Provide appropriate teaching to patients and families.
