Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a part-time Radiation Therapist (20 hours weekly) to administer ionizing radiation under the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription. You will collaborate with the physicist, dosimetrist, chief therapist, and Radiation Oncologist during planning and simulation of treatments.

Requirements include ARRT certification, Maryland licensure, and at least one year of experience in a radiation oncology facility; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required and Maryland state licensure.
• One year of experience in a radiation oncology setting recommended.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Administer ionizing radiation per physician prescription with accuracy.
• Review and maintain daily treatment records for accuracy.
• Assess patient condition from medical documentation and monitor reactions.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients with sensitivity.
• Participate in simulation and mold room procedures.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage setup times.
• Understand dosimetry procedures and perform basic time calculations.
• Prepare room and equipment per prescriptions and immobilization needs.
