Job summary

Markent Personnel is seeking a Radiation Therapist for a Days FLEX, on-site role in Ithaca, NY. You will work under an oncologist to prepare and administer radiation treatments, ensuring precise patient measurements and proper immobilization for sessions.

You will monitor patient responses, explain procedures, and maintain safety while operating imaging and treatment equipment. A strong focus on QA and scheduling supports a continuous care pathway.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal radiation oncology technology program with ARRT certification.
• Current New York State License (L.R.T) required.
• 1 year experience as a radiation therapist preferred.
• Certification through ARRT.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized radiation therapy treatments in consultation with the oncology team.
• Explain the process to patients and answer questions.
• Assess patient reactions, advise on side effects, and mitigation strategies.
• Understand and operate imaging and treatment equipment.
• Collect and manage patient information.
• Assist with patient positioning and immobilization.
• Ensure safety protocols for patient, family, and staff.
• Perform quality assurance tests on simulation and treatment machines.
• Schedule patient visits to follow the treatment plan.
