Qualifications

• Completion of a 12 or 24 month Radiation Therapy Technology Program is required.
• ARRT certification and BLS certification are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Liaison between patient and clinical staff, explaining treatment plans.
• Acquire imaging as directed by Radiation Oncologist.

Base Pay Range

$33.64/hr - $50.46/hr

Pay based on experience: $33.64-$50.46

PRN – Choose your own hours! You also receive a 15% pay differential on top of base pay!

Schedule: 7:45am-4:30pm, As needed and variable.

Education Qualifications

• Must have satisfactorily completed a 12 or 24 month Radiation Therapy Technology Program Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Radiation Therapist - ARRT Required
• Basic Life Support - BLS/RQI Required within 90 days of hire

Experience Qualifications

• 1 year Experience in a major cancer center or equivalent field. Preferred

Summary of Responsibilities

• Works as a liaison between patient, radiation oncologist and other clinical staff.
• Acquire MV, KV, CBCT imaging of patient per directions of Radiation Oncologist to determine the exact location of the area requiring treatment.
• Explains treatment plans to the patient and answers questions about treatment.
• Implements and delivers a planned course of treatment with high professional standards for patient positioning, immobilization, documentation and patient comfort.
• Follows safety procedures to protect the patient and themselves from overexposure to radiation.
• Constructs and/or prepares immobilization devices, beam directional devices and any other treatment aids, which facilitate treatment delivery.
• Serves as a source of support and encouragement for each individual patient and their families.
• Interacts and evaluates honestly and fairly with all students placed within the department. Instructs appropriately and consistently, according to department treatment procedures, to benefit and advance the profession.
