Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is looking for a Radiation Therapist to join our team in the United States. This full-time, day-shift position supports cancer care by operating radiation therapy equipment, acquiring images, and coordinating with the radiation oncologist and therapists to ensure precise treatment delivery.

The successful candidate will have completed a Radiation Therapy Technology Program, hold ARRT certification, and obtain BLS/RQI within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have satisfactorily completed a 12 or 24 month Radiation Therapy Technology Program.
• 1 year experience in a major cancer center or equivalent field.
• ARRT certification required; BLS/RQI required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison between patient, radiation oncologist, and clinical staff.
• Completes daily warm up on machines and reports concerns to physicist/oncologist.
• Acquires MV, KV, CBCT imaging to locate treatment area as directed.
• Operates the machine to treat the patient with radiation.
• Verifies prescribed dose aligns with treatment plan.
• Explains treatment plans to patients and answers questions.
• Delivers a planned course of treatment with proper positioning and documentation.
• Monitors and reports adverse reactions to radiation oncologist.
• Follows safety procedures to protect staff and patients from overexposure.
• Documents detailed treatment records and supports treatment delivery.
