Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Radiation Therapist to deliver daily radiotherapy treatments with precision and compassion. You will position and immobilize patients, evaluate treatment images, and help resolve setup issues in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy (or a Bachelor’s preferred), with state licensure and ARRT certification. This onsite position offers a competitive pay range and benefits at 100 Blossom Street.

Qualifications

  • Formal education in Radiation Therapy is required or preferred.
  • ARRT certification or equivalent licensure must be current.
  • Clinical exposure or experience in radiation therapy settings is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Administer daily radiotherapy treatments accurately and safely.
  • Position and immobilize patients per treatment plan, evaluate images, and resolve setup issues.
  • Mentor student therapists and departmental observers as needed.
  • Participate in QA programs to ensure quality patient care and treatment delivery.

Job Summary

$15,000 SIGN ON BONUS available! (current employees of MGB not eligible) The Radiation Therapist will demonstrate essential skills in treatment modalities and protocols to accurately set up and administer daily radiotherapy treatments. The therapist will also be responsible for communicating effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and the healthcare team. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes

Essential Functions
  • Administers radiation therapy treatment accurately and safely, following departmental policy and procedure.
  • Positions and immobilizes patients according to the treatment plan, effectively evaluates images in accordance with standard guidelines, and assists with resolving setup issues.
  • Ability to teach student therapists and other departmental observers.
  • Utilizes the Quality Assurance (QA) program to encompass all aspects of treatment, treatment delivery, and quality patient care.
Qualifications

Education Associate's Degree Radiation Therapy required or Bachelor's Degree Radiation Therapy preferred

Licenses and Credentials
  • Radiation Therapist [State License] required
  • Radiation Therapy [R.T.(T)(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
Experience

Continuous clinical experience 0-1 year required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • May be required to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills in one or more specialty areas and programs.
  • Specialty Rotations will include these additional responsibilities.
  • Understands the function of all equipment, accessories, treatment policies, procedures, and protocols, and applies knowledge appropriately.
  • Performs daily QA measures to ensure proficient operation of all imaging and treatment equipment.
  • Works flexible shifts depending on patient volume and departmental needs.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking, and creativity when resolving issues and conflicts.
