Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis seeks a Radiation Safety Specialist to support the EH&S radiation safety program for WashU and affiliated entities. You will manage HU-RAM and RAM activities involving radioactive materials and related waste under general oversight.

This role requires evaluating information, coordinating with users, and leading technical tasks. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and knowledge of ALARA practices are essential, with strong written and verbal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
• Relevant experience of 5 years in radiation safety or a related field.
• No specific certification is required for this position.
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety principles and ALARA practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, survey, and evaluate data for HU-RAM and NHU-RAM programs.
• Lead technical tasks, coordinate with users, and prepare reports.
• Develop EH&S training materials and exams.
• Respond to radiation incidents and support emergency planning.
