Red Bank Veterinary Hospital seeks a Veterinary Technician in Radiation Oncology to support patients undergoing advanced therapies. The role collaborates with board-certified oncologists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe delivery of treatments, anesthesia monitoring, and high-quality client communication.

The ideal candidate has veterinary technician credentials (LVT/CVT/RVT preferred), at least three years in a hospital setting, and experience in emergency or specialty care.

Qualifications

• Credential preferred: LVT, CVT, or RVT
• Three years of experience as a Veterinary Technician in a veterinary hospital
• Experience in emergency or specialty hospital preferred
• Proficiency with computers, EMR, and data entry
• Experience and knowledge with anesthesia administration and protocols
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Fluent English (speaking and reading) required

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain LINAC and radiation therapy equipment safely
• Administer radiation therapy as directed by the Radiation Oncologist
• Prepare for anesthetic or sedation events and monitor anesthesia
• Set up breathing systems and monitor anesthesia parameters
• Perform venous access, blood draws, and medication preparation
• Calculate drug dosages and manage medications from Cubex
• Record vital signs and anesthesia parameters accurately
• Monitor patients undergoing radiation therapy and CT scans
• Collaborate with Oncology, Imaging, Anesthesia, and Nursing teams to optimize patient care
• Maintain radiation safety standards for patients and staff
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist with recovery and discharge
• Ensure equipment, treatment areas, and supplies are stocked and maintained
