Job summary
Carle Health is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our Peoria team. You will provide medical physics support across EBT, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT, while guiding QA programs and clinical safety.
The role includes leadership in radiation safety and collaboration with physicians, dosimetrists and therapists. The ideal candidate holds an advanced physics degree, ABR certification, and an IEMA license, with prior clinical experience.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Physics or related field.
- ABR Certification (Certified Specialist in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics) is required.
- IEMA license for Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy is required.
- Experience in medical physics or a clinical setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT.
- Oversee equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration and QA programs.
- Develop and maintain departmental physics policies and QA procedures.
- Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety principles.
