Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville, TN is seeking a Radiation Oncology Nurse PRN to support patient consultations, education, and coordination of care. The role involves assisting physicians, coordinating front-desk duties, and obtaining pre-authorizations for radiation therapy and CT simulations.

Qualified candidates are RNs with BCLS/CPR certification within 30 days of start date; oncology or radiation oncology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Radiation oncology experience preferred; oncology experience preferred.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Assists physicians with consultations and patient follow up. Assesses new patients and provides education to patient/family. Assist with the front desk phone calls, scheduling appointments and basic front desk duties. Assists with phone calls from patients. Calls pharmacies to send prescriptions. Obtains pertinent patient information, pre-certification, etc. Maintains charts and supplies. Obtains pre authorizations for radiation therapy treatments and or CT simulations. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.

What qualifications you will need:

• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Radiation oncology experience preferred. Oncology experience preferred.
